CCTV Focus: Tire industry "takes off the hat"
2023-08-17

On August 26, CCTV's "News 30 Minutes" program reported that Shandong removed the tire industry from the "two highs" list.

The news pointed out that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee emphasized the need to deepen supply-side structural reforms, improve incentive and constraint mechanisms to promote high-quality development, and create new momentum and advantages for development.

High-emission and high-energy-consuming industries are areas that Shandong, a traditional industrial province, has always restricted development.

Recently, the province has removed the "two highs" hat, achieving a combination of the two and a new and green development.

According to reports, the tire and foundry industries currently account for less than 5% of Shandong's total energy consumption in the "two high" industries.

Because they have little impact on energy conservation and coal reduction, they are removed from the "two high" range.

For projects other than the "two high" category, enterprises can directly apply to purchase provincial storage quotas from the province.

If the project is listed as a provincial key project, it can also enjoy a discount of no less than 20%.

Tire World Network learned that in June this year, Shandong Province removed the tire industry from the scope of "two highs".

Subsequently, several tire projects in the province were registered and planned to start construction this year.

Zhang Hongmin, chairman of the Shandong Rubber Industry Association, said that this policy is a major benefit to Shandong's tire industry.
